We're recruiting a Quality Control Analyst for a well-established chemical manufacturing business in Newmarket. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QC Analyst, Analytical Chemist or Laboratory Analyst looking for an immediate start, with the potential to secure a permanent position.

The Role

Working within the Quality team, you'll play a key role in ensuring raw materials, intermediates and finished products meet the required quality standards before release. You'll be joining a busy laboratory supporting both production and ongoing research projects.

This is a hands-on analytical role where you'll be using a range of laboratory instrumentation while working closely with production, R&D and the wider quality team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out analysis of raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
  • Operate and maintain analytical equipment including:
    • GC
    • HPLC
    • FTIR
    • Karl Fischer
    • Titration equipment
  • Prepare samples for analysis.
  • Record and review analytical results using the company's ERP system.
  • Complete laboratory documentation in line with quality procedures.
  • Support investigations, troubleshooting and method improvements.
  • Assist with research and development activities where required.
  • Help maintain a safe, organised and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Provide support to the QC Lead when required.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in a fast-paced analytical laboratory, ideally within:

  • Chemical manufacturing
  • Fine chemicals
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Specialty chemicals
  • Life sciences

You'll ideally have:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent laboratory experience)
  • Practical experience using GC, HPLC, FTIR, Karl Fischer and titration techniques
  • Experience working within ISO9001 or similar quality systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Confidence working independently in a busy laboratory
